So I have been venturing out to the Galleria for many things such as interviews, shopping, simple CDC approved exploring, and it led me to some great finds.
Golden Goose
I walked past this store and saw sneakers in a laundry dryer out of my peripheral vision. I'm a suckered for weird visual merchandising so I waltz in. The lovely sales associate, now aware of my rose-colored ignorance gave me a debrief of this brand, Golden Goose, and the vision. Golden Goose was founded in 2000 by two married Italian designers who wanted to take home a piece of their experiences around the world and implement it in their products to create an artisan focused lifestyle brand. Signature GG details are pre-scuffed sneakers, metallic textiles, and colors scraps of leather and other miscellaneous materials used to create a one of a kind sneaker design for the customer. A few select stores (i.e. the Houston Galleria I was at) have a lab where an artisan can customize your sneaker for you. Most of the sneakers in their collection are to only manufacture ansell in the hundreds and sell and then they aren't manufactured again.
It was the answer to our need to tell stories and share our experiences. We got inspired from places all around the world, we collected memories and ideas and turned them into our idea of style.
