Emma Chamberlain Represents Gen-Z Fashion in the Best Way

Sofia Greaves

I have been watching Emma Chamberlain since 2018, and the first video of hers that I saw was her first day of school vlog. I know now that what attracted me to her content was her authenticity. I feel like it is the most overused phrase to describe her, but it is also the most accurate thing you can say about her. Emma Chamberlain is a 20-year-old YouTuber whose celebrity has awarded her opportunities to work with a variety of brands, from Pacsun to Louis Vuitton. Her latest venture was participating in the "7 Days, 7 Looks" segment on Vogue.

From what I can see, Emma has a deep appreciation for vintage style in all forms. What sets her apart from other vintage-loving creators is she confidently rocks them in their original form, without having to do major alterations or "thrift-flips." She will justify an outfit by saying "somedays you wanna look like a librarian... you need to dress it up somehow" or "there is something really special about dressing like your grandparents" (21 Outfit Ideas) but it just works. Even though she has risen to stardom, and I am guessing so has her budget for shopping, her styling is still attainable. Her day-to-day outfits aka what's on her Instagram are casual, and when she dresses up she is always playing with silhouettes. She is mainly concerned with feeling comfortable and cute which she stated in her video reviewing fashion trends. What makes her a great representation of gen z is her affinity and appreciation for uniqueness in her fashion.
