Make it edgy:

Because of how strong the hue of this skirt is, making everything else black brings all the attention to the skirt without the whole look being so busy. Silver accessories are a must because the hardware on the skirt's zipper and the belt is silver. It is a detail most people would not immediately notice, but the look is more cohesive.

Make it soft:

The skirt is already a heavy leather texture, but this mint mohair crop top not only balances out the amount of skin showing, but it is a more elevated look for a night out than a plain t-shirt couldn't do.

Make it Miami:

Let's be real... the purpose of buying a bold skirt isn't to blend in unless you are trying to blend into a colorful place. If you are looking to avoid all neutral options your best bet is to use a multicolored top with the color of your skirt in it.

This is actually my go-to romper for running errands, but the pattern is fun enough that I wear it at a summer event with the addition of some accessories. Try using a romper you have at home and slipping the skirt over it. You might surprise yourself with the results!

Make it layered:

This crop top I used is a mesh top in a paisley print which makes it a great transitional piece for any season. I left it simple with the skirt, but on this outfit, you can add a black or pink matching jacket if it's cold, or a t-shirt over top for layering. For shoes I decided to go a little grungy to offset the girly flowers on the top half, looking a unique aesthetic.

Make it summer:

I used to strongly believe that summer fashion was boring. Obviously, I don't believe that anymore, because I somehow came up with this outfit. The way to stay cool and still feel covered up enough is for your tighter skirts to be a little bit longer. You can play with the silhouette by making it high-waisted and pairing it with a tube top. I did this here, and the skirt was still mid-thigh. Flat shoes are your best bet for staying comfy and not worrying about your skirt riding up. With simpler outfits like this, try making your shoes one neutral, and your top a completely different color.

Make it casual:

I personally don't always like throwing a solid black or white t-shirt with certain colors. I feel the best way to make this outfit casual and coordinated is to use muted tones like grey and blue. The acid wash on this denim jacket goes well with this band tee designed to make the texture look vintage. Your eyes are still drawn to the skirt, and honestly I would wear this outfit anywhere from school to a date.
